I just moved on to play senior rugby and find that I am to small to play the way I had in flanker compared to the other guys in the postion any tips ?
If you're too small to bang your way around the pitch as a smaller man in your position, get fitter than they are and outrun them. Make yourself a fetcher.
Do some research on a fella called "Neil Back"... they said he was too small also...
In your first year in the seniors you have to get used to playing against big boy's! but big boy's also have a disadvantage, Easy to tackle around the legs, use more energie to get up from the ground, not as quick on there feet! etc. Think about the advantage you have on your opponents, !! Ask your coach to talk to you about your strengths and threats, and what opportunities it will bring to you and how to develop skills in your advantage. Think about it yourself aswell and compare this with your coach his thouhgts.
